Paw Creek Pump Station (Design-Build)

State Utility delivered the Paw Creek Pump Station and Force Main program for Charlotte Water under the Progressive Design-Build delivery model, executed through five (5) GMPs totaling $49.1 million. The program expanded regional wastewater capacity and system reliability through coordinated pump station upgrades and critical conveyance improvements in a highly constrained urban environment.

Improvements at the Paw Creek Pump Station, a critical facility serving the Charlotte Douglas Airport area, increased firm capacity from 9 MGD to 24 MGD and included installation of five 375-HP variable-speed pumps, a new 480-V electrical system with VFDs, a 2,000-kW standby generator, surge control, wet well modifications, permanent bypass capability, and odor control.
